A day of welcoming

Preparing for our Diocesan Assembly
on the 24th of November 2012

Reflecting upon "Dies Domine"
Apostolic Letter of Pope John Paul II

"Communion with Christ is deeply tied to communion with our brothers and sisters. The Sunday Mass is an experience of communion which the celebration should clearly demonstrate, while ever respecting the nature of the liturgical action." (Dies Domini DD 44)

Making the Sunday liturgy welcoming is essential. When we receive Holy Communion we enter a communion of believers that is the very Body of Christ. And when we answer "Amen" we are saying we will care for this body, nourish it, honour, respect, forgive and heal it. This immense experience cannot be had in any other moment of human life. This miracle occurs each and every Sunday.

For Reflection This Week:

  • Who are some of the people or groups you find it hardest to be in communion with, to love and accept?
