Reflecting upon "Dies Domine"
Apostolic Letter of Pope John Paul II

THE LORD'S DAY: A DAY FOR REMEMBERING

"The Third Commandment is a call to remember: remember the work of God in creating, a remembrance which must inspire the entire religious life of men and women." (Dies Domine DD 16)

In Exodus 20:8 we are told: "Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy". There is a key connection between remembering and keeping holy. We remember what God has done and so our response is to make it holy. We remember God's saving acts and so we give thanks and praise.

For Reflection This Week:

  • How has God acted in your life?
  • How have you heard the voice of God speaking to you?
